Instructions for First Time Visitors

Please read through these instructions. You'll find important information here that will maximize your experience using the class site.

On this page you will find the following:

1. THE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE

The Reunion Committee established this site to provide a simpler, more organized and FUN method to connect / re-connect and keep classmates of the Class of 1969 updated on reunion planning and other class happenings — even for those who may not be planning to attend reunions and other class events.  All are welcome here.

While similar in some ways to social media sites in that classmates can keep up and interact with one another — one key difference is that the site is not to be used as a platform to promote personal causes, political views, or the sale of any personal products or services.  Venues such as Facebook, Twitter among others are in place for such activities.

Probably the most important element of the site the Reunion Committee wants all classmates to know is that OUR SITE IS SECURE AND PRIVATE — and we never share your information with anyone!  You have control of what information is visible (or not) to your fellow classmates regarding your personal profile — and you are the only one who will know the password you establish.  More detailed information appears below in the Privacy Notice section.

Everything you need to know about signing up and creating your profile to gain access to the password protected portions of our site is on this page. If you have questions, please click on the Contact Us link in the menu and submit your question(s) — classmate / site administrator Bill Hamlin or another member of the Reunion Committee will get back to you ASAP.

2. SETTING UP YOUR PROFILE

In order to access the password protected pages and take full advantage of the numerous features of the class site, you must sign up and set up a profile by entering (at minimum) your e-mail address and establishing a password. Again, as noted above — the password you create will only be known to you.  Once your set up is completed, you will be able to log in and access all of the pages of the site.

To set up your profile: click on the Classmate Profiles link in the menu, then locate your name from the list provided and click on it. Follow the prompts to enter your contact info and create your profile.

Private information like your e-mail address, home address, and phone number(s) will not be visible to fellow classmates. We collect mailing addresses and phone info in the event that the Reunion Committee needs to contact you by e-mail, snail mail or phone. Your information will never be given to other classmates or shared outside of the Reunion Committee without your permission.

We encourage you to add a current picture to your profile as a master photo. This photo will be displayed in various areas around the site. Feel free to upload additional "Now" and "Then" photos if you wish. Classmates will enjoy seeing how you've changed!

We believe we have preloaded the site with the names of everyone in the Class of '69. However, If you fiind your name is not listed under the Classmate Profiles link — click on the Contact Us link and let us know. We will work with you to remedy the situation and add your name ASAP.

Updates: If you change your e-mail address, snail mail address, or phone number, please edit your Contact Info immediately so we have up to date information for you. That way you'll always be in the know about class happenings and what your classmates are up to!

Passwords: Choosing a password — Passwords do not need to be the high security style recommended by more public sites. Choose something simple that you are certain you will remember. Checking the "Keep Me Logged In" box on the Log In page will allow you to bypass entering the password each time you visit, but eventually it is likely it will fail (for instance when you get a new computer) —so  please make note of your password!

If you forget your password simply click on "Forgot Password?" link on the Log In page and the system will guide you through the process of resetting your password. If you have several e-mail accounts, and you don't remember the one you used to set up your profile, click on the Contact Us link and let us know what you need — classmate / site administrator Bill Hamlin or another member of the Reunion Committee will get back to you ASAP. This could take a while so please be patient.

3. "MISSING" CLASSMATES

Clicking on the Missing Classmates link will pull up a list of all classmates for which we do not have an e-mail address on file — accordingly they are not receiving reunion and other class-related e-mail updates.

We need everyone's help to contact EVERY classmate and encourage them to sign up on the site so they can stay in the loop. If you have information about any classmate, listed or not listed, please click on the Contact Us link and let us know.

4. COMMUNICATING WITH CLASSMATES

To contact a fellow classmate, you may simply use the e-mail option at the top left of each Classmate's Profile page (located under Master Photo). This feature will allow open communication between Classmates (as long as their current e-mail is on file) while protecting your personal information. If you wish to share your e-mail address or other personal information within a message written on our site, the site will not block you from doing so.

5. ADDING PICTURES TO YOUR PROFILE

Adding current pictures is not a requirement to participate on the site, but it certainly is a nice way to get to know people again. We've had reports of classmates who were routinely running into each other without knowing it because ... well ... we've all changed a little over the years!  :-)

Filling in the photo slots at the top of your Profile:

  • Click "Edit Profile" under MEMBER FUNCTIONS.
  • Roll your cursor over the Master Photo, Then, Now, or Yearbook photo silhouette (Note: You cannot upload a yearbook photo if one has already been provided).
  • Click "Select Photo" displayed in the upper right corner of photo, then click the "Upload a New Photo" button.
  • Select the desired photo from your hard drive. You will then be given an opportunity to crop the photo for a perfect fit.

Adding large "Profile Gallery Images" to your Profile:

  • Clicked "Edit Profile" under MEMBER FUNCTIONS.
  • Click the photo tab in the upper right corner of your Profile.
  • You will see any images previously uploaded here. Click the "Upload a New Photo" button to add more.
  • Click to select images you wish to display on your Profile. All images with a green check mark will display. Click again to not display, and the green check mark will disappear.
  • To add a caption under your images, roll over any image and select "Edit Details". Enter your caption and press save.
  • You can adjust the display order of your photos by simply dragging and dropping them into the positions of your choosing.

6. PRIVACY NOTICE

All contact information (e-mail address, snail mail address, phone numbers, etc.) that you enter into this website will be kept confidential. As stated above, we never share your information with anyone!

Your contact information is private: Your street address, e-mail address, and phone number cannot be seen by other classmates. Each classmate has the ability to limit the visibility of his or her profile to only fellow classmates by clicking on the appropriate answer in the Profile Visibility section during profile setup. If you do not opt for privacy on this line your profile can potentially be viewed by non members such as your friends or family, but also note your profile will be fully indexable by major search engines.

Finding your class website Profile pages by searching Google or other major search engines: If you are signed on to the site and have restricted your profile to only fellow classmates, and then use a search engine to see if the privacy options you have set are working, it will appear they are NOT. This is only because you are signed into the site. Sign out and check again. You will see that none of your profile information is viewable by non- members.

E-mails may be sent within this site using the contact option at the top of each classmate's profile page (just look under the classmate's main photo in the upper left). This way you will be able to contact classmates without sharing your private email address, unless you choose to do so privately.

IMPORTANT — All class E-mail news sent from the Reuniion Committee to you via this web site: For those of you with spam blocking or email filtering capabilities, please add noreply@classcreator.net to your email account as a safe sender in order to ensure you receive email communications from us.

Please note that if you do not want your name and picture on this site it may be removed by clicking on the Contact Us link and making your request.  While we would hate to see you go, classmate / site administrator Bill Hamlin will honor your request and make the appropriate changes to your record. This will end all communications to you from the Webster Groves High School Class of 1969 website unless you ask that special arrangements be made (and we agree that we are able to fulfill them).

Note: Even if you ask to be removed, the one place your name will continue to appear is the Classmate Profiles page, as that list reflects every person who was in the class — but beyond that your record is disabled. If at a later date you change your mind and would like to be re-activated, send us a message using the Contact Us link and we will help get you set up again.
