After graduation, I attended Meramec for 2 years and transferred to UMSL where I graduated with a BA in Biology and a BS in Chemistry at UMSL. I worked as a microbiologist in the Pharmaceutical, Contract Lab, Health & Beauty and Food Industries before retiring in February 2018. I met my wife Diane through Bob Trampier (and DeMolay) and married her in 1974. We have one daughter, Alicia who graduated from UMKC and is a ER doctor at DePaul and Mercy hospitals and have 2 granddaughters; Carina (7) and Gwen (4) and 2 Irish Setters. We live in Fenton, but I spend a lot of evenings in Webster Groves. Retirement has been full of travel and of course, having fun with the grandkids.

After I got my Eagle Scout, my dad got me involved in DeMolay with Ed Gurney, Jeff Berger, Bob Trampier, Bob and Bill Lake and other Webster Groves High School graduates. Then, in 1973, I joined the Masonic Lodge in Webster Groves and became its Worshipful Master (president) there in 1986. I took over as secretary for 19 years.

Most of the '69 graduates probably don't remember me except that I delivered A-V equipment, ran projectors and worked in the sound booth at assemblies and did the same at Meramec. This turned out to be a blessing as I joined an organization called Scottish Rite with my dad. He worked in the wardrobe room, but having no interest in costumes, I worked on the sound crew and met and worked with many fantastic and influential men. They got me involved in state-wide Masonry where I was Grand Master in 2014-2015. I came back to Webster as secretary last September.

The upcoming reunion at Webster Groves High School brings back many great memories there; the oranges in the halls of Kirkwood High School, working the press box at the Webster Kirkwood game, barely passing geometry with Mrs. Bodman (but I passed), before school gatherings in Mr. Hampel's room, the girls panties hanging in the courtyard, wave theory with Mr. Blecha and ... . Can't wait for the reunion. See you soon.

Steve Cassilly--fantastic BLAST'S!!!
